Singapore Trip!!!

So as you all know, I didn't went for the gathering at Ai Li's place. That was because I went to singapore with my childhood friend. We've known each other since we're like 7 years old. Yup. It has been a long time.

The purpose of the trip was that he(of course it's a he. Sharon don't simply think) wanted to get his new phone - Samsung Omnia 2 s8000 Jet?(weird and long name). Well, of course to visit some of his relative as well. But the Samsung phone is the primary reason.

So I was at his place on Friday night. We were supposed to depart at 10am. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, namely delay by some people working in a bank, the departure was delayed till 11.45am. We headed southwards toward lunch in Seremban. Lunch includes - 清蒸八丁鱼, 芥兰炒虾球, 芙蓉煎蛋, 梅菜扣肉, and 炸猪手. And followed by a long drive southwards. A long and boring drive all the way till JB.

Reach JB at about 5pm. Maybe a bit later than 5pm. Checked in at the Crystal Crown Hotel. It's parking has it's own lift and the lift to the hotel rooms is at another place. So it was super inconvenient. Rested awhile and then headed towards Singapore. Custom check was super boring as well. And the roads were spinny. Spin spin around and spin summore before reach Singapore's custom. Had dinner at Geylang Rd. Dinner forgot eat what d. But can see lion dancers or dragon dancers parading the streets. 9th August is the Merdeka Day for SG.

After dinner was a short drive to his relative's house. No. 33 Jalan Tanjung was the address. We sat there, chatted and had coffee and watched the TV reporting news about hurricane/typhoon in Taiwan. That channel super pro. One news on hurricane/typhoon can report for 1 whole hour. They talked about the same thing over and over and over again. Flood here, flood there, flood somemore, and more flooding. One whole hour. I was like "Swt, they not sien I also sien". So yeah. After that, went back to JB. Cross the customs again. Spin spin again. Reach hotel. And I read the book "Where Rainbows End". Finished it at 3.19am. It was a touching story. And then sleep(on the floor again due to my bad habit).

Next day at 8 something am wake up for breakfast. Breakfast in the Chatter Corner Cafe within Crsytal Crown(notice the fascination with "C"). Buffet style. Got nasi goreng kampung, roti canai, mee goreng mamak, porridge, eggs, breads, hotdog, and whatever standard breakfast related stuff. I was quite zombie like due to not very sufficient sleep. After breakfast, went to Sentosa Island to play play(yes, that means crossing the custom again, the spinny roads again). Saw the Merlion sculpture?? statue?? It's a weird combination as a sea creature and a land creature gets combined into one. Definitely don't understand what they were thinking when they chose that. So ya. Walked around here and there and took some photo's. Visited Fort Siloso, the fort with the cannons pointing the wrong way during World War 2. Saw some memorablia and some passage that reminded me of Sejarah(MPAJA, Force 136). And had lunch in 九龙 restaurant or something like that. I ordered a 肉骨茶. And to my surprise I get 肉, 骨, and 茶only. 3 pieces of meat stuck on 3 bones and a claypot of soup. Nothing more, nothing less. And for a price of $6.50. For that much money, I can get like 2 servings of 肉骨茶 with better "everything" than that. And they messed up the order cos the cashier was like keep taking orders while the production can't keep up. So I had to wait for erm.....dunno how long before I get my crappy food(Really geram). And thus ends my visit to Singapore.

A long long journey back to Malaysia. Stopped in Melaka for dinner at 万里香satay celup. Fantabulous dinner. Eat till syok syok. Never knew it was that nice. And so a drop off here, a drop off there, reached my friend's place at somewhere close to 11pm.

Thank you for the post. I have one very interesting event in Singapore to recommend. Singapore River Buskers' Festival usually takes place in November. Talented street performers from around the world gather on the walkways of Orchard Road, along the Singapore riverbank and Marina Bay for this festival. Spectators can enjoy fantastic street theatre, comedians, contortionists, magicians, mimes, sword-swallowers and jugglers, all set against the glittering backdrop of the city.
